GreatPing documentation
What GreatPing does, what you need, and where to start.
GreatPing alerts your phone or tablet when a coding agent on your computer needs you: a permission prompt, a question, or a finished turn waiting for your next message. While you are at the keyboard, it stays quiet.
It has two parts:
- The command line tool (
greatping) on each computer. It pairs the computer, connects your agents and sends alerts. It is open source under the MIT license. - The GreatPing app on your iPhone, iPad or Android device. It shows the alerts, answers questions and decides which computers may send them.
GreatPing never answers or approves anything on your computer. A native prompt stays in your agent, and you answer it there. Questions you send yourself, from a script or through an agent's ask_user tool, can be answered on the phone.
